My upbringing was very international to say the least – I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and I have Swedish and English dual nationality. I’ve lived all over – spending 10 years in England, then studying literature and languages near Paris, after this, moving to Rotterdam. Here I started working at Digidentity, in the Hague, as a UK customer service agent for the GOV.UK Verify product. This gave me a deep understanding of how digital identity products work for customers and gave me a lot of ideas on how to improve the quality of service provided on the service desk. Moving up through the service desk gave me a lot more insight on how I could help Digidentity be increasingly customer-centric in their services and products they provide.
While working on this, my particular interest was in the rules and regulations. My research allowed me to move within Digidentity and became a Security Analyst in the Security Risk & Compliance department. This gave me a platform to enhance my knowledge of the security ‘backend’ of a range of our products – for example eSGN, eHerkenning, and Certificate Authority use. Although it’s a great shift from customer services, that background helps with implementing GDPR regulations, handling of personal details and other security requirements.
Since working in the world of identity and security, I’ve wanted to push my knowledge further, for myself and for Digidentity who gave me the opportunity to enter this world. Alongside my job at Digidentity I’ve enrolled in an International Business & Language degree, to enhance my commercial skills and learn some more languages, which will allow me to further my knowledge of the European Identity framework.
