💙 Giving Tuesday: See the Human Impact of ID Exclusion

Today we are choosing to spotlight the real stories of people whose lives have been shaped by identity exclusion. These lived experiences show why inclusive, fair digital identity systems are urgently needed - and why our work matters.

Here is what identity exclusion sounds like in people’s own words:

“I don’t have a birth certificate or a driver’s licence. All I have is a utility bill - and that won’t get me anywhere.”

“There was a bank I couldn’t get into. I had to give them my ID, my bank cards, my money - and wait outside while they did my banking for me. I felt so exposed.”

“It took me more than a year to open a bank account - all because I couldn’t get the right ID.”

Your donation helps us complete the ID Code of Conduct - research designed to reduce bias in identity systems and ensure that everyone, everywhere, can access the services they need to live, work, and thrive.

Every step and every donation brings us closer to a world where identity is inclusive for all. Together, we can make sure everyone is seen.

💥 Double Your Impact with Benevity

Many companies will match donations or volunteer hours through Benevity - and Women in Identity is already registered.

Ask your HR or CSR team if your company uses Benevity. If yes, you can:

  • Log your walking hours as volunteer time (for example, 5 hours = £125 donation from your employer)
  • Log any personal donation you make to Women in Identity - your company might match it

In your company’s Benevity portal, search for “Women in Identity” to get started.
